What we do at HASTI?

HASTI is actually a research institute in fundamental sciences and mathematical science with aiming ant innovative technology applications. It is a third generation of pure scientific institutes approached and found by Omid Ghayour, known as Dr. Q.

In 1974, after his debut Lecture/Talk on Fractals, Random Walks, Cellular Automata, Hausdorff Dimension, Omid Ghayour founded HAMRA on 15th of November 1994. HAMRA was aimed as an Institute to encourage Inter-University collaboration between students to learn the core, nature, and the philosophy of each courses in mathematics, and deepen the thinking of the students on each problem. So give the students a new vision about every problem; Instead of just solving each problem as fast as possible, think more about each question as, how could we change the question to make another similar problem, or how can we change it to become like another known problem, or how can we generalize this problem, and in general ask our selves, what was in the proposer’s mind?

Later after his graduation, he saw some of his visionary thoughts could and should better become true, but the existing organizations had no interest in them, so he established INTS, Institues des Etudes Nouvelles pour la Technologie et la Science. INTS is severed many researchers to help them access the resources they need. These services were not limited to just accomodation and meals, but also a small financial support for like stipends. So continuing the main activities in INTS, a independent chapter of INTS is starting it’s activities in Indonesia, right, HASTI, aka H-AST-I, HASTI Akademi Siens dan Teknologi Indonesia.

In HASTI we do study in fundamental sciences and mathematics and research in frontiers of technologies, to deliver our best services, to the society. In Hasti we not only study the fundamentals of Universe, we also promote Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math. We promote Math and Physics Olympiad, we encourage younger students with prizes and appreciation their achievements.

Hasti is a word with Indo-Iranian root, meaning Universe, Existance, Being, Foundation, and also remembers the notion of Shri Ganesha, Gampati, the symbol of Knowledge and Science and Wealth.
